A friend of mine is doing a dissertation on hamstring activity in certain weight lifting movements, using EMG readings.
He said he has found some literature using EMG readings during squats that actually shows lower ham activity in deeper squats …
I’m still waiting on the literature that he has promised to send me, i’ll post it when I get it.
I would be keen to see this. Everything I can recall that I’ve read and my own experience tell me the hams work best in a squat when it’s a full deep squat. :rolleyes: .

People, those aren’t squats he’s doing they’re partial lunges, you can see his right leg is back at 4:26.
