Would this be ok?

Hey guys, I’m already aware of the other creatine topics in this forum, but i’d like to know…would it be advisable to use this supplement throughout this season?:

http://www.maximuscle.com/cyclone

This is what is contained in it:

Per 1 serving = 60g (1.5 scoops)
Energy 230kcal/962kJ
Protein 30g
Carbohydrate 21g
Total Fats (includes MCTs & EFAs) 4.68g
Creatine Monohydrate 5.1g
Glutamine 5.1g
HMB® (Enzymatic Metabolite of Leucine) 1.5mg
Potassium Bicarbonate 500mg
Sodium Bicarbonate 500mg
Beta-Ecdysterone (97%) from Suma 40mg
Bioperine 5mg
Chromium Polynicotinate 200µg

I’ve heard a lot of good things about it (about increase weight strength, and power) but I wanted to know if it’s wise to use this throughout the season, most importantly the competition season…

For some background information, I’ve been using Creatine (since January), and in the weight room, these were my improvements (1RM):

Bench Press: 220lbs -286lbs
Shoulder Press: 132.3lbs -220lbs
Hang Cleans:132.3lbs - 176.4lbs (x 8reps)
Power Cleans: 154.4lbs - 220lbs
45degree Leg Press: 705.6lbs - 837.9lbs (x3reps)

I resumed track training last week, after recovery (from a hip flexor tear and out since May 2008) that I was a lot more explosive, and both clean exercises became easier, and I also noticed that I could actually feel my arms pumping whilst running and had more control of them…

But anyway, back on topic, would you recommend using Maximuscle Cyclone; in particular during the competition season…I’ve got a race next week Saturday, and I’m getting paid on Monday. I don’t want to waste money…

Thanks

Any replies anyone??? :frowning:

Yea it looks good to me. I dont like taking creatin during the season because I gain water weight and cramp alot.

Water cramps? i’ve heard about those…i’m guessing this happens because of loading?

Yea creatin is good for cramping people up. DO a search there are many topics on creatin.

Dude, screw creatine =)
It´s my opinion, and if i got it correctly also Chris´s, that creatine gives you more water to work around than power to use to go faster.
Sure it will help you do more reps and in the long run get stronger and faster, but at the cost of being as weightless as possible. Will the strength beat the gain weight? I guess that depends on your style of running and you genes.

I’mm not a big fan of creatine but this protein shake contains it as one ingredient and if you take it after workouts it should be fine. Because of the creatine however, I might split one shake into two portions and spread them out between meals. I often suggest that with protein shakes anyway.

I agree, I am not a big fan of creatine either. What’s the point of spreading the protein shakes?

thanks for the reply guys! so it’s not bad to use it during the season then…

i do remember in one of the creatine topics that he usually doesn’t take creatine a week before competition…this true? is that what is more suitable? to avoid the kind of creatine cramps chris6878 spoke about?

Drink a ton of water. Creatine is more of an offseason supp. When Weight is not a big issue. I do like the muscle hardness that creatine gives the muscles. Well atleast the ladies do!

Don’t use cyclone. I think it’s very expensive for what it is! Over £40 for a 2 week supply! It does taste disgusting also!! Maximuscle have also been sued for contaminated substances on at least 3 occasions (I won’t say anymore as I know the rules). I have used it twice, the first time I noticed an improvement in my bench, the second time, nothing at all.

save yourself some cash and get one of these instead;)

The code BSD10 will get you 5% off too.

Forget maximuscle, the stuff is pure crap.

-Contains lots of artificial sweetners
-Costs a ridiculous amount of money
-tastes like crap
-Very untrustworthy with regards to contamination (There have been questions raised over the ingredient Beta-Ecdysterone, which I think is banned in some countries).

I used it before and noticed no difference in my recovery or performance.
