I’ve always trained like a sprinter but never actually entered a race. Just wondering how you go about it and what the scene is like. I’m 27 btw and live on the westcoast.
they have all comers meets at a high school, on tues. If you look at the bc athletics website there will be info. Its run by the hershey harriers. Kajaks had all comers meets but the meet director did a piss poor job so it fell apart.

i ran in the hershey harriers the past tuesday. There will be one the following tuesday. Me and hawaiian compete there. You can join in, fee is 10 bucks for non bc athletics members.

yeah they are electronic, but sometimes they screw up and they do hand.

yeah you gotta bring your own, people will share if you ask though. It is FAT with a wind gauge. Although i havent seen a positive wind this year they have all been -2.0 winds. Its a great little meet for everyone, you have all ages, abilites competig which i think is great for the sport.
The kajaks all comers is having one more for the season at some point. Im not sure when though. They are disorganized, and the person who came up with the idea bailed, he wasnt doing the job anyways and thats why they were shit.
