Weights during a peaking period

Well I know there are lots of points of view, but what´s the CF´s approach for the training with weights in a peaking period?

Lot of thanks in advance

Just as an example; this issue has been discussed here before, I am sure you can find something in the archives!
Or in CFTS and/or Forum Review(s), I suppose…

Thanks Nik  ,that thread help me a little, but the main doubts of mine are about :

1-what are the primary moves for the lower body and for the upper body? They are the same primary moves than in GPP (DL,SQT,Power clean,Push press,Bench press )?

2-How are considered Power clean and Push press?Lower lifts?

3-If you think in the day 10 before competition,What kind of exercises you choose for? It´s OK to use each one of the primary moves?or it´s better to maintain just a pair of lifts?

I´ve seen some samples in CFTS but there´s a Ben´s sample day that gets me confused  because he performe SQT and Bench press at the same day.
(I know I ask a lot of questions but now I´m like a child discovering the Chocolate´s World  )

I hope you understand that these are highly individualised matters; there are some very good ideas in the forum, but -unfortunately- you have to experiment your self to find what suits you best and on what occasion.

  1. More or less these could be your main exercises.
  2. I would say whole body exercises; when you are used to these lifts, they could be used as such -whole body- saving valuable time for other training elements and/or recovery/regeneration work.
  3. You might have to reduce the number of exercises to allow room for other elements to be “fully” developed, but this again depends on how many you are using already. The 10-day taper period may be very effective for high level athletes, but perhaps for most a week can be enough. Again, try and see what works best!

Chocolate also works well before races!
