If someone’s primary goal is to lose weight say 20 - 30 pounds. What would be the most efficent resistance training exercises to perform. What range of reps would you use, what would be the rest intervals and how much total volume. Would you do an overall body workout or a split.
I know that cardio and diet are vital to weight loss but I am interested in the methods of resistance training people might use.
If it is for sports I would keep the reps in the strength range between 3-6 reps. This way on a hypocaloric diet you can maintain strength and hopefully most of your muscle mass as you loose weight.
Doesnt really matter how you train, just train normally as you would for your event. Obviously adding some sort of running helps to increase the number of calories burned as well.
Diet is the essential component though, get that caloric deficiet going and watch the results flow!
