I am not convinced on whether it the fast track or just a short track… i am not one to be a hater but these times and the times of the previous meet are a little too impressive for some of the athletes competing. but i could be wrong and maybe need should shut up and jump in the next meet snag me a qualifying time

I dont know either way. I trust Weaver with measurements, so it must be good. It is mondo. Have you seen it? The only way I would qualify was if the track went down hill (in my lane only) LOL

Runfast 71, I take classes in the building that houses the ASU indoor track 5x/week. I will try to go upstairs and measure the straight if possible in the near future. They are pretty picky about allowing people in there but I will try. The track is very fast(at least the straight) the oval is is not smooth but rather a segmented 290m. Instead of an oval it is really an octagon-of course this is not relevant(sic.) for the straight races. At least one of the guys who was not even a top 3 finisher has run mid 10.30’s outdoor. By the way, the surface is Mondo also. I think the distances are accurate because some of the other top finishers over the last two years in various meets have run pretty good times outdoors. Dlive11 didn’t you say that the Montgomery in the placings is the brother of someone pretty famous in track?

though i have never seen the track, i really doubt that the track is short. (i think the tracks have to be certified) but i think its kind of off beat that there are so many fast times…even though it is mondo. I mean some of the times rank as the fastest in the country… just kind of make me want to jump in and grab a lane just to see what happens.

Rf, I believe that some of the kids that have run at those meets are pretty under-rated and eventually many will know of them. Try to follow their progress at other tracks and even through the outdoor season as will I. It’s a combination of some pretty good, though unknown, kids competing on what I believe is a very fast track. I will eventually try to measure it though.
