The tactics that Maria Mutola and Kelly Holmes used to get the 1-2 were so amazing - and obvious. Interesting to see such tactics between 2 athletes from different nations - even if great friends - Nice to see such friendship and teamwork.
M Steeplechase -
Kenya vs Qatar: The behind the scenes politics here rival a Cold War.
The Kenyan-born Saif Saeed Shaheen alledgey was promised 1 Million $ for winning the race and 1,000 $ a month for the rest of his life regardless - won the gold medal for Qatar in the steeplechase He beat his brother and other former compatriots. The race tactics were unreal also. He even changed his citizenship this summer and now claims he was born in Qatar. His win marked the end of Kenyan domination over the past 12 years in the event. The hate was tangible.
