University of Texas Pro Timing Day

I’ll be in attendance and I’m going to try to download the pics and post them here. Starts at 10:30 today so I have to run.

Sounds good. Roy put up some nice #s:

40: Under 4.4, some had at 4.37 on a “slow soft astroturf”
VJ: 39 1/2 inch
20 yd shuttle: 4.0
Three cone:6.7
Broad jump: 11.5…crazy
Hands: 9.5 inches

How’d you get that stuff so fast? I just left from Austin an hour ago. I had him at 4.38 and some other NFL scouts had him there also. His vertical was sick and 17 reps on the bench was pretty impressive. I’ll post the pics here in the next couple of days. Jeff Blake was there to throw passes to sloan thomas, brock (the tight end) and roy and nathan vasher looked real impressive. Mark Henry was there too just kind’ve hanging out (I’ve heard he does that a lot) and I got to walk out of the tunnel at DKR which was awesome. Apparently Roy has been training at Athletes’ Performance with Mark Verstegen, he had a t-shirt on and was using the massage stick that verstegen loves sooo much!! His feet still point waaaayyy out and he has a drag in one leg so there’s always room to improve. The track they ran on was crappy!! B.J. pulled a hamstring and several other longhorns sat out with pulled hamstrings. A couple of NFL scouts were complaining about the lack of organization and the fact that “mad dog” had all of the position-specific drills outside (instead of inside the practice facility) where it started raining and all at the same time so the scouts couldn’t watch everyone!!

“Vasher (5-10, 179) ran his 40s in 4.65 and 4.68”
from NFL.com

ESPN3-You know that’s Vasher’s nickname? Pretty dissapointing 40 time.

I don’t know if BJ really had a hamstring pull, but it’d probably be in his best interest to get out of running the 40. mad dog put too much weight on him. Hamstring pulls…wonder why…

I think Carlos Francis from Tech also worked out with Roy. He put up one of the best 40s this year.

mad dog’s a genius, haha.

ya francis put up the fastest 40 at the combine or any pro day this year(4.31)

4.5 high? that’s me running out there…God if they just learned to run with an average track coach like me then imagine the combines…

Does anyone have any idea how to post pics?

You can get a free website to host them. There’s some sites like imagestation, webshots, etc.

Thanks, I’ll try that. Give me an hour or so to learn.

Fire out an athlete running with crap form and I will post in on my site and make an article about it!

Does this link work? If you look at the video on mack brown’s site, I’m the guy in the blue shirt and black pants with my arms crossed on the sideline where roy williams and sloan thomas are running their out routes. I’m quasi-famous  !! You see me shaking my finger at jeff madden!! Sorry there aren’t very many pics. The flash on my camera wasn’t working right so they all came out blurred!! I got a sweet shot of roy on an out route though and there’s a pic of me (i’m the one on the left) and my happy buddy ikki standing in the tunnel at DKR.

no go!

I fixed it, I think.

its fixed. inside pics are a little dark, but its better than nothing.
thanks

Yeah, sorry the flash was messed up on the camera so the pics are really fuzzy. I took some really good shots that didn’t come out at all.

i watched the vid clip from the earlier posted link, and although vashers 40 was a little disappointing, his pro shuttle looked great. what did you clock him at? looked sub 4… thanks

I actually missed the time on vasher, but yes it looked very fast. ESPN.com posted that D’angelo Hall from VA Tech ran a 3.68 in the shuttle. UNREAL!! But the rule of thumb in the shuttle is .4 faster than your forty and he runs a 4.1-something so that sounds about right.

Vasher’s shuttle looked cool…the way he slid down

Watch Roy’s 40 in slow mo…he has one really weird stride…wonder what Charlie could do with him…

Sloan looked to overstride/brake right?
