tyler christopher slump

I disagree with the idea of working on weaknesses vs strengths. You want to clean up obvious and easy stuff in weaker areas but concentrate on where you can make the big gains. There are many types in the 400 from strength guys like Reynolds and Evans and speed guys like Tommy Smith.
Tyler is not a big SE guy but has had terrific speed. In the past he has had great difficulty going from one big SE run to two. If he could simply accomplish that with steady progress, he’d really go but we saw what the pursuit of more endurance did to his 300m (always his strength in the past) in the event in Eugene. That’s when I saw big trouble coming.
I also disagree with Alex Gardiner. The 400m game IS physical and I believe the key to Tyler’s future lies in an improvement of his 200m, which I believe can dip below 20.00.
This guy is the real deal!
If it were up to me, I’d now look at split runs for his SE work.
