What has happened to this website? Seems to be gone?
Where are all the aussie athletes lurking these days?
They put a fee on joining the forum, so that immediately would have cut their membership and discouraged new members.
Fair enough to make money to at least cover the cost of administering the site, but obviously charging people to express their opinion was not the smartest move, otherwise the site presumably would still be operating.
It was a good site and the guy who ran it was very enthusiastic, but passion has its price. It is a real loss.
People are still struggling to make money out of the internet and it seems that carrying advertisements and selling exclusive products linked to the topic which sporned the site are in fact the best ways to go.
Over and above that, the collapse of this trackandfield website along with traditional grand prix meets like Helsinki, for God’s sake, is just another sign of the apocalypse for a sport failing to move with the times.
