Does anyone have a comprehensive list of track meets that are being held in the US and Canada? I have checked the USATF website, BC Athletics, and Athletics Canada, but it seems as though there are not that many around…
Any ideas?

It’s odd that lists of competitions are not on national web sites. Odd how you have to go on all kinds of regional web sites. Must be a better solution out there. Try posting this on letsrun.com
I know, bunch of distance runners there and some of the postings there are insane (fun to read sometimes) but there are still some people “in the know”.
(BTW, if you click on RunNB, you can see road races too.)
Usually you can read about track meets a few weeks in advance through the newspaper. A lot of them have a section (Metro, City, etc.) that will contain events and tryout information for different sports. So try checking your city’s newspaper on a daily basis. You’re should find something.
