Today is 24th September - 20 years Since........

Ben Johnson ran that electrifying 9.79 on 24th September 1988 in Seoul…probably the race of the 20th century, certainly the most talked about 100m race all time.

Regardless of the events later, still in awe of it every time I see Ben blast away the best 100m runner (up until then) of the time in Carl Lewis.

Happy Anniversary Charlie & Ben…

20yrs - its funny - i talk to some Personal trainers i work with, who are like 19yrs old and have not even heard of Ben… Then im like, hmmm, Before your time hey? Makes me feel old.

Well 20 years is a generation ago.

Agree with Youngy still send shivers up the spine.

youngy you have far to much time on your hands…

and if you want tickets to the Jets game in Adelaide this weekend let me know its a sat night game at 6.30pm.

Yeah, quirky how a certain date sticks in your head. I always knew it was at around the same time as the VFL Grand Final.

I remember watching the Grand Final between Hawthorn & Melbourne at the MCG on TV when they crossed to Seoul for the 100m final. Bruce McAvaney called the race for Ch 7.

Even though it’s gone quickly, a lots happened in 20 years!

btw, I sent a PM, re: the Jets v Adelaide.
