For the duration of the exhibition, The Olympic Museum introduces its visitors to modern China, that is, both the change process underway in society because of the catalyst of the Olympic Games, but also what remains of China’s Eternal Empire. This introduction is presented through many means of expression: exhibitions, activities and demonstrations, concerts, documentary festival, educational kit, guided tours and workshops.

A century of International Ice Hockey exhibition

The Olympic Museum is celebrating 100 years of the International Ice Hockey Federation by offering its visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a skating rink. Ice hockey’s famous heroes have been brought together to form “the team of the century”. This is a unique chance the revisit the greatest moments of legendary matches and to understand the technical aspects of ice hockey, as well as to discover the differences in style and strategy of the best teams.

From Sunday 12 to Thursday 16 October: 28th Olympic Week
The Olympic Week, dedicated to 9-15 year olds, brings the Beijing 2008 programme to a close and offers new workshops on China.
Every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Traditional games and sports. Introduction to wushu with Master RONG Jun, street games. Music. Workshops with YANG Jing, famous pipa player. Learn about traditional Chinese instruments. Calligraphy and introduction to Chinese. Make ink, hold a brush, trace characters and learn some useful words. Kites. Make and decorate a kite before flying it in the air. Chinese cuisine. Learn to prepare raviolis with the help of a cook.
Thursday 16 October: Closing ceremony. Wushu show
Sunday 19 October: Sunday Concert: French Horn Quartet
Isabelle Bourgeois, Jean-Pierre Berry, Pierre Briand and Patrick Peignier interpret pieces by Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Dvorak and Tchaikovsky. At 11 a.m., Museum auditorium, price: CHF 22, subscription: CHF 60 for the five concerts.
