The Piriformis Syndrome

I have pain in my butt when i run distances longer than a 100m and when i complete the run i can’t sit because if i do that things happen to worsen so i have to walk it off also at times i have numbness (like now) while sitting down doing an absolute nothing but relaxing :S. my physio had said, some two months ago, that it was all due to lactic acid and that i needed to train on longer distances which i did by introducing tempo work and easy runs in my training schedule. however this didn’t change anything and things are still like they were in the beginning.

while reading and all about butt pain i met a lot with the Piriformis Syndrome, but i don’t have pain in the morning or anything like i read people have however i have the numbness while sitting and pain that extends from butt to harmstring.

now, do you think it could actually be Piriformis Syndrome. i have an appointment scheduled for next friday and will not try freaky stuff on my own, but just wanted an idea if anyone thought it could be the piriformis.

and if anyone ever had the piriformis, how much time did you do without training, cause most say you should stop for some time.

Thanks in advance,
Keith

I don’t know about that one.

Definitely. Who is your appointment with? If you can find a good therapist you can probably get significant relief in a session or two. Find a shitty therapist and it could take weeks to eternity.

i’m in malta so saying who is it wouldn’t help you but he’s good because he already fixed my back problems, so he knows what he’s doing.

Nice.
You should be fine with tempo runs in the mean time till next fri.
Make sure you get stretches off the guy when you see him.
In the mean time, you could try tennis ball massage? or foam ball…

Were doing any single leg movements?
