tension vs relaxation

i remember there was a lot made of the importance of massage in some of charlie’s books. there was an optimum level of tone for performance.

are their any guidelines for this that are tissue specific?

if i can’t get hands on with an entire team are there any big rock tissues to target?

i usually do something similar with a roller, purely from a self diagnostic point of view, does any one have better suggestions?

in terms of getting a return would the target tissues vary considerably from a group of track athletes to a field or team sport?
