I would say the domination of the women Sprint events by the Aussies, and performances by Grant Hackett (400,800,1500FS),Ian Crockett (100BF) and great South African Schoeman (50Bf and Fs,100Fs) can be considered the true highlights of these interesting World Champs.

I will post some details I might have about the more recent training trends of the sprints in Australia (coaches Ian Pope,Shannon Rolasson,Stephen Wiedmar) as soon as I manage to find and gather them.

great idea…in the italian telecast the commentator said that aussie sprinters had a small volume of training mileage and more weights work…but, nothing detailed

Phelps has been entering his weaker events… And in some cases winning!

I finally managed to survive my PCs’ madness and here is at least the link to some documents from an Australian Swimming Team Training Camp:

And the following is another document of general interest which might shed more light on how competitive swimmers are traditionally trained for those who may not know - of some interest for further discussion on this site is the “Appendix 1” at the bottom of the article:

How is the training program going for you?

Charlie, would you like me to comment the sessions described here, some insights of my recent program developments,or both?

I’ll be happy to contribute,I’m asking just for clarity and focus…

I’ve played poker with Michael Phelps a few times!

Some comments on both would be great
