I ran my track season this year in Zoom Rival S+. They are terrible spikes, the spike plate is already showing through, and everytime I run the 400 (my best event) I get deblitating blisters. So I need new shoes. What does everyone think of the Superfly P Plus? Do you think I’d have the same problem, or do you think that their higher quality would keep the sole from wearing away? :help::help::mad:
misguided…i feel ya pain…i had a pair of those when i first started running and i quickly got out of them…not to mention the fact that they were stolen out of my car, but thats another story. the superfly p plus is a pretty good spike…i run in them now and not to mention the fact that they are really cheap now on eastbay…like 85 bucks…where they were about 105+…get u a pair…u just might like them…
The adidas power sprint may be worth a shout-if it’s good enough for chambers, greene etc, then it’s sure as hell good enough for us!
Could try the Nike Jsc, I only mention these because mj helped with the development of this shoe. Thus the spike plate is more likely to be favourable to the 200/400m runner
I run in the JSC’s and I like them, but am definitely going to get a different pair next year. They are good quality and comfortable, but they are almost too light because they allow for flat footed running. I am thinking of getting the Trammell’s or a customized pair of the Marion’s for next year with the Superfly plate on them. I’m not dissing the JSC’s because they are good, just not the right spike for me.
By the way, does anyone have any comments on the Mizuno Chrono Dash (Trammell’s)?
Yeah I don’t think I want a spike that allows for flat footed running, that is a part of my technique that I have been working on correcting. Do you think the Superflys would be suitable for 200s and 400s? I will also run the 100 and a straightaway in the 4x100 and a 4x400 leg in them, so they need to be up to alot of work.
Definitely, the superfly’s are a sprint spike after all, and correct me if i’m wrong but the 400 is a ‘sprint.’ I mean Chris Rawlinson wears them for the 4 hurdles, so they’ve got to be fairly useful for the longer sprints.
Mizuno are also worth a shout-they’ve definitely got the best spike plates. Stable yet flexible, and damn comfy shoes too
I have asics at the moment, they are my best spikes yet.
But am thinking of getting Mizuno! one of my training partners said that he seen them blue mizuno ones, the ones with the strap.
I am going to get them.
so mr magoo, if I was looking for a spike and my first priority was comfort, you would reccommend aisics?
guys go out and try them on for fit.chris rawlinson, anthony borsumato wear nike because it money, they will not say no to money.
a top athlete told me he had a $150,000 contract with a certain company and he told me that the shoes were crap,no cushioning, uncomfortable.don’;t go for a shoe just because x person wears them, they are getting paid to wear the product-you aren’t.
you’re an individual.choose yourself!!!
If I were you go out and try every single brand if you can-only then will you find a shoe that fits right. So if asics running shoes are comfy for you then why not try their spikes? At the end of the day it’s you who’s got to run in them and if they aren’t comfortable then you ain’t gonna be wearing them…
X-man is right

You want the best gear to help you win not to look like some one …
Thanks for the advice guys, I did end up getting the Superfly P Plus. They are extremely comfortable, I love em. They come with these round things that you put over where you put the spikes in and you run the spike through this round object first. I would assume the idea is to get the sprinter even more on their toes, but I don’t think I like 'em. Anyone have any feedback, or even know what I’m talking about?
Yeh i know what u mean misguided. The crowns supplied are for the very purpose you suggested, though whether you use them or not is up to you. There are a few threads on this somewhere on the site or archives…
I tried 'em today without those crowns, and I felt really up on my toes anyway, so I’m not gonna worry about them. The shoes were great, FAR better than the Rival S+
