i have been wanting to incorporate 2 or 3 strongman events into my training for football. combined with sprinting and olympic lifting, they can be very beneficial. i will definitely be using the farmers walks, any ideas on which others would be most football specific? thanks
Farmers walk?? I agree with bohersch, it’s good only for a career if you don’t make it in football. Fotball players don’t need to look for additional ways to hurt themselves!

You can also pinch 2 plates together (smooth sides out) between your fingers and do them.
Or use anything heavy and/or cumbersome that will tax your grip.

no you do not. pick up heavy dumbbells that you think you can handle for about 50 meters, and go to it.
farmers walks are walks with db’s in which you walk for distance or time. it is used to enhance grip strength and fitness.
Do you exagerate stride for strength development or anything?
farmer’s walks / tyre pulls / etc - good ways to make a name for yourself by creating an “aura of mystery” about exercises that people have done in the past but chosen to call by more simplistic names, e.g. d/b walks. Farmer’s walks are a much better name to help market your seminar.
