stiff at the back

had a training yesterday with alot of bounding & jumping (hurdles plyo etc)
Today I feel stiff at my lower back and also between my shoulders both around the spine.
This probably means that my back muscles arent developed as needed…?

What exercises do you do for your back?

What this would mean to me is that you either did the exercises wrong yesterday, or you did too many of them (which could mean you shouldn’t do any of them at all). You may not have warmed up properly, or cooled down sufficiently.

What sort of bounding and plyos have you done in the past with your training? What sort of training background do you have?

training for 9 years now, for some reason we did not run at all that training, just some low intensive bounding and some jumps over hurdles

  • low hurdles - lower then 30" (10 hurdles): 5 times with an extra foot contact (small jump) between the hurdles
  • low hurdles (10 hurdles): 5 times with direct bounce over the next
  • high hurdles 33" (8 hurdles): 5 times with direct bounce

this was as much as possible with straight legs without pulling the knees up very high

All the rest where low intensive boundings without going high or far, just fast. These were some coordination exercises

from FR2002:
max 30" around 30-40 footcontacts, that training had around triple of them :s
