ok this is a repost sort of.
I am a strength and conditioning coach for a military organization and im currently in the process of educating them. So every week or every 2 weeks i send out training articles for them to read. Last week was the squat, this week i want to address their constant use of long distance running and no sprinting. i have read countless articles about sprinting vs. long distance running which state that sprinters have higher VO2 maxes and higher lactic acid thresholds then long distance runners. However, i can not find any of the articles. i am also trying to explain to these guys that the longer you run the more you will be fatigued and form will break down resulting in over use injuries.
does anyone have any links to any information on this topic? this topic up to debate for anyone who has any information supporting or contradicting what i have read.
