I’m in the position where I’ll be training a few high school aged athletes this summer. I was planning on using a short of long-to-short approach where I focus on speed-endurance and strength-endurance work (basically GPP focusing on some long sprints and compound lifts in the 8-12 rep range) in the beginning and work to max strength and max power work towards the end of the summer.
Do you agree with this approach? I’ll be working with high school girls that don’t have very much weight training experience, but are fairly qualified athletes- they’ll all be playing college ball at a pretty decent level.
