Something different.

I found this on here with relative ease.

Im curious to know what mo greene did when he first got with John Smith and HSI

Like, did he do a lot of core work, endurance drills, etc.

Im sure he was eating healthy and all also,

but im wondering what he did before he became the man he went on to be

anybody know?

Mo had already run a windy 9.79 before he got there so he was no beginner.

really?

If so, what did he do when he first started becoming competative?

I haven’t seen anything about his training in Kansas City pre-John Smith but I’m sure someone here might know

I don’t know but, I remember Mo Green saying that John Smith “ripped up his technique” at the begining. It was about getting slightly slower before getting faster.

Faster than 9.79?

he put on quite a bit of weight when he first joined hsi (muscle though). john smith also introduced him to the prolonged drive phase, with the head down. greene was already a finallist (if not bronze medallist) at the world indoors in 1995 before joining smith in late 1996.

Greater capacity than the windy 9.79 I suppose.
I think John Smith probably wanted to convey to young (& allready good) Mo Green that he’d have to kind of start a-new with Mo’s career, but that once Mo had been fully inter-grated with the HSI system after the first cycle, THEN things would start to be on the up.

Not sure if it was on here or somewhere else, but I recall he was pretty lean in KC and John wanted him to gain more muscle to handle more stressful training to come.
