Snowboarding

I haven’t been snowboarding in a good 5 years but I decided to go last week. I thought that I would suck, but incredibly… I was way better than I’ve ever been. I guess general improvements in strength and athleticism transfer across to most sports. My body control seemed to be alot better which I’m guessing is due to an increase in core strength.

I think injury prevention is the key to this sport. I was in the terrain park at Whistler yesterday and I was really surprised I didn’t injury myself more severly. I was taking a bunch of stupid risks off jumps and rails. I’d fall hard in all sorts of awkward positions. I think my strength levels kept me from breaking my limbs and tearing my ligaments.
