Seoul Olympic Mens 400m Final

http://bubonicfilms.com/flicks/TnF/oly400.WMV

Steve Lewis - 11.26/21.41/32.13 (43.87)
Butch Reynolds - 11.29/21.68/32.58 (43.93)
Danny Everett - 11.03/21.37/32.18 (44.09)

Did Butch get out too slow or make a late move? Did Danny go out too fast?

I think Butch didn’t expect Lewis to run a PB.

Remember, Steve Lewis kept shattering the Junior records with each and every round!

how come i cant open these files?

I think you need a PC (not a Mac) and Windows Media Player 8 or 9

If you have a Mac, I think you need the registered version of Quicktime, not the freeware player.

I’m on vacation right now, so I don’t have my Mac to test it out for you. Sorry. (I have enough crap to lug around… laptop, cell phone, PDA, DV camera, spikes, spare spikes, stopwatches, etc)

otherise, try right-clicking on the URL, and “save traget as”’ onto your hard drive. (your IE browser might be old, and the plug-in isn’t set properly)

i have a PC. Maybee i need an updated windowns media player.

thanx.

Was the 43.29 too early? I remember that being a question given to him at one point.

perhaps, he ran the WR on Aug 17, and the OG final was Sept 28.
Still, to run 43-point and come in second…

fijlee,
can i just say YOU ARE THE MAN!
it works now. i just had to update my plyer.
thanx again.

This worked for me. I downloaded all the clips posted using MediaPlayer.

Thanks for the tip fjlee and well done to tarantan for posting the clips.

It is hard to believe that Steve Lewis is two years younger than Michael Johnson. To win any Olympic race final at the age of 19 is just out of sight. That world junior record will probably never be broken unless Jamaican sensation Usain Bolt, who still has three more years until he turns 19, makes a challenge for that record. I believe he has a pr in the mid to low 45’s. Anyways, it was too bad that Steve Lewis’s career didn’t go as long as it should have been. All those injuries took a toll on him. It would have been awesome seeing him going against MJ if he had stayed healthy. Steve Lewis would have been 31 if he was at the Sydney Olympics.

Darren Clark, Australia, Lane 5, 4th Place.

I believe Usain Bolt’s 400 pr is 45.3? so potentially he could be the next michael johnson. I mean 20.13 at the age of 16/17 is unreal!!!
