Lets see how you guys season went compared to other seasons. What were your times like last year? How’s your training different compared to last year or the previous seasons. If you’re faster or slower lets hear how everyone is progression.
Freshman year-
From Feburary until April, I didn’t run because of a torn hip flexxor. Ran religiously from July until January(PB of 13.1 going into July) before my injury though. The first day that I ran again after I had healed was a meet… 11.9 and it was the fastest time I ran all year. 25 something in the 200 (First time I ever ran it in my entire life)
Sophmore year-
Using my loose knowledge of Charlie’s techniques and being lazy and not starting until 4 weeks before my first meet, I ran consistantly in the 11’s all year, with my PB of 11.5 coming at my second to last race of the year. Didn’t run the 200 at all (ran like a 22.8 relay split =/)
I have already started my planning and have been out on the track and in the weight room. With a new-found dedication and more knowledge of Charlie’s techniques, I think (hope) I will be able to flirt with going into the 10’s HT.
Sophomore year - Ran consistent 11’s handtimed. 24.94 fastest 200m. 400m was a low 56 in the second time I ran it all year. 54 split at final meet. Training was horrible, but I didn’t know any better at the time because it was my first year.
Junior year - pulled hamstring at second meet and then was cleared to go back 100% two days later. Ran 55.90 and 24.80 at first meet. After that I somehow got a 24.51 a few weeks later and my fastest 400 after that was about a 56.4 FAT. My lowest point of the year was when I ran a 57.13. I gave up regionals and state (4x4) to sit for two weeks and keep my GPA up (actually went from 3.75 to 3.792). My training was again horrible to go along with the quick return from injury which basically jeopardized my whole season. Started training on my own for summer meets using knowledge I had acquired and after 3 weeks ran 11.89/23.91/54.67 and then 2 weeks later ran 11.87/54.42 and that’s how I ended my season.
My goals for next year are 23.0 and <51 because the 400 time will get me to state and the times together will get me at least to a DIII school, maybe DII and possibly NAIA. I am now training 100% on my own this year and am a lot smarter than before so I am looking forward to a great year, injury free.
7th grade: Only ran the 200 and 400, Pb’s of 25.99 and 58.59.
8th Grade: I got pneumonia and only ran one track meet during the school year, ran 12.35 and 25.23, which was a middle school record for the 200. ran a very questionable 11.78 at an all comers meet, so I’ll say my PB was 12.35. only ran 1 400 that year, 56.96.
9th grade: 1st full season, ran PB’s of 11.82, 24.20, and 53.84. After school track was done, my coach spent a week improving my technique, and at my 2nd summer meet I Pb’d w/ a time of 11.72.
