Scar tissue formation on bicep femoris

Ive pulled my hamstring 3 or 4 times this season! And thats because i am stupid enough, impatient and always eager to put 100% intensity too soon.

Its been around 6 weeks since the latest ham tear (grade 2 i guess), my range of motion is perfect now (i can put my palms on the floor having my legs very close together), and heavy back squatting poses no threat either. Jumping no problem, medball throws no prob. I can do the mach drills aight. BUT, i am still VERY afraid to run fast, anything over 80% and am shitting my pants off. I guess i am afraid because sth doesn’t feel quite right yet. (and i can’t afford any other mistake).

Paplating the hamstring muscle, i can clearly pinpoint a dense hard ball-like mass right down on the b.femoris muscle in my right hamstring, and another one higher up in the belly (i think both the short and the long head of b.femoris are affected). This dense like scar tissue (?) is not present in my left hamstring.

I ve been self massaging my ham (deep tissue) with my thumb and fingers while passing the muscle throught its range of motion etc for over 3 weeks now, and although i had success restoring my muscle length rapidly this way ( it provided almost instant relief, because 4 weeks back the ROM was pityful, and it even hurt to drive :stuck_out_tongue: ).

But this little scar-tissue mass thats left (?) just wont go away with massage, no matter what. I dont know, i am start wondering that it might not be scar tissue at all , because i have FULL ROM . Its just sprinting that stills feel weird (but maybe its too early in the remodelling phase?).
Dont know, could it be sth else? Like a calcified diposit?
Will it go away by its own? Self massage doesnt seem to make it go way no matter how much pressure i exert while passing the muscle through its rom.
If it is indeed scar tissue thats left over, is it possible to reconstruct it or break it up altoghether? Cause i heard that you can only increase its flexibility, thus making it more pliable and able to function as part of the muscle…

I dont have ART here in my area. Tough luck… and i seem to know more than most of the physios here already who are more or less clueless:mad:

Try rolling on a lacrosse ball, roll as many different ways that are effective.

or a tennis ball - you get the idea, loads of things can be used. just when you are sitting down put the ball under your leg and shift about so you can get to different areas. theres a thread about this called self massage or something like that

Do an ultrasound scan…
