On march 2006 I had a microfracture in the scaphoid bone of the right foot while jumping in the smith machine. I stopped sprinting for a while but the pain endured and spread to the upper face of the metatarsus.
I did a lot of laser therapy and for a while I eliminated the pain, which returned the following year and never disappeared, although varying in intensity.
In the last two seasons it get much more annoying and I had an NMR in may 2008, which showed oedemas in the scaphoid and in the metatarsal bones.
I stopped for a while, but the pain returned as I restarted running. I had other two NMRs in may and december 2009, which did not show anything wrong, but the foot still hurts.
I tried ice, laser and four physiotherapists. The benefits were only temporary.
If I stop, as I return on the track (or on the grass) the metatarsus hurts immediatly and if I insist, the pain spreads to the scaphoid, the the ankle and the toes.
What can I do?
