He seems cool after it… Look at Lemaître’s face at the finish, lol!

Congratulations to Rudisha. It’s only a question when he will ran sub 1:41.
Jamica now have 3 sprinters who ran sub 9.8 in this season. Impressive!
Ryan Bailey showed a great progress, also 9.88 in this race.
Lemaître ran a PB 9.97
And Mario Forsythe (jam) has ran sub 10 for the first time

Great race!

Yea he looks happy with his time.

Actually, Nesta is the only jamaican athlete to have run sub 9.8 this season. You’re probably referring to jamaica’s all time sub 9.8.

That video is from 2009, where he was exactly 1 second slower!

Has Ryan Bailey broken 10 before this? I don’t recall him doing so. This is a huge PR for him. Looks like he finally got a good start, he’s been stumbling out and still running 10.1x.

I can’t believe how many of the “second tier” guys are running well this year. If everything holds it’s going to take a sub 9.9 to even make the WC finals next year.

Jamaica’s relay team looks better and better as the days go by!

9.78…9.89…9.58…9.74 This is just ridiculous

Try this one:

Didnt Kipketer break the WR twice in about a week as well? Similarly Coe before that?
If you are in form, you are in form!

Carter ran a much more relaxed (and seemingly easy) race than the one with Gay. If we did not know the times of those two races I would easily say this was a slower one. Well done!

If he works a bit more on his 1st and 2nd strides we could see Carter run low 9.70’s.

One day we will see a Sub 1.40
Insane strength levels shown to run this fast. The 800m Event Starts at 200m to go. As shown with his 1.14 at 600m. He who slows the least from 600m will win the race  - I remember once, had 1month off training, yet still remained pretty fast, Was infront at 600m by 20-30m - Lost the race, came 3rd, was behind 20-30m at the finish. Was feeling fine at 590m, within 20m, my race fell apart, almost instantly.

Powell’s best is 9.72, BUT it’s scary what this team can run. Look the possibilities…

(My order)
Usain 9.92
Yohan 8.85
Nesta 9.12
Asafa 8.70
36.59

And the American’s also have a ridiculous line-up…

(My order again)
Tyson 10.00
Wally 8.90
Dix 9.18
Bailey 8.94
37.02… dipping them under the current WR.

All of those splits are estimates except for Powell’s 8.70. What if he goes 8.68 though :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry my bad. I thought little different than I wrote. I think next year at world champ there is no question that both Powell and Asafa will ran sub 9.8. I think that Blake is also able to run sub 9.8 next year.

Jamaica has something like 20 guys at 10.20 or under so far this season…incredible depth…they could send their 10th best to Delhi and he’d probably pull a medal in the Comm Games.

by the way…some fresh pix from Rieti in “analyse this” thread

Asafa has NEVER run under 9.8 at a championship, and only under 9.9 once.

2003 >10.0
2004 9.94
2007 9.96
2008 9.95
2009 9.84
