Rome 2003 M100 Start

This is the 2003 Rome Men’s 100 start. I think this new rule is a bit of a joke at this level of competition if this sort of thing is going to happen. There’s so much at stake, it must really put some pressure on the starter.

Sorry about the quality attachments are down to 512K on forum v3. :frowning:

For reference, here is the lane assignment.

PJ pops straight up. Contrast this to the 9.88 clip that I posted on the forum. He’s not running his own race. :frowning: Once he recovered he was gaining on Greene like no tomorrow but it was all too late. I could not believe this ludicrous commentary on our TV coverage where the experts Fleming and Culbert pronounced that he should give away the 100 and focus on the 200. Hello, his 100 PB is 9.93, his 200 is 20.50. When he gets it right he will be dynamite. He clearly has not trained for the 200. In the 100 he could be one of the greats.

Aliu has a great leading arm. It’s the Clark Gable of leading arms in this clip.

dcw23,

You are a wizard with your video attachments! I think the results of this race are colored due to what one can see on your video. I hope that the new rule does not allow this to become normal. Otherwise I hope that the powers that be will act accordingly.

Yes I think so Carson. Here’s the result.
