Finally got some pictures from training. I cropped them just to show me btw.

Posing for the camera

LOL, In this picture you can see my family trait. Long and SLIM legs, high calf structure. Behind me is the stairs where I do my grueling plyometric routine!

Starts

In this picture you can see that im still having a problem with leg cycle/foot plant. Not as bad as before but foot still points outward way to much.

Personally I think you are being a bit too pedantic (and that saying soemthing when I think that  ) forget about it and run :stuck_out_tongue:

We could be twins     :stuck_out_tongue:

Thursday:

Basic stuff

40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%

REST

40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%
40m @ 100%

I normally cannot be bothered writing about anything other than the workload I do in training but today b/c i have spare time youā€™ll get an insight into my interesting life

So I drive out to qe2 stadium, and risk getting a park next to the golf range. I go there so often, one of these days im going to regret that LOL. I get all my gear and realise that I have no money to get in so I climb over the fence and cross through an area of construction to get inside w/o paying.

Right so I get to the stadium put my gear down by the long jump pit then do my usual warm up routine, starting with a one lap jog. I see two groups training there. A guy training his daughter/son and another group of about 10ppl.

After my jog I to the stairs and stretch my hip flex0rs. So Iā€™m watching the group of 10, I see them there EVERYTIME I go to the stadium. For the life of me I cannot figure out what they are training for. I see them doing ridiculously hard stretches, stair work, sprints, 800m runs?! They are coached by some asian guy who is hilarious when he trys to motivate his athletes. Always yelling out and screaming lol.

Anyways I forget about them and finish up my stretches and do some drills. Now im watching the other group training, a father training his two kids. All of them were doing repetitions of 400m at what looked like near 100%. 13 y/o kids had more guts then me!!!

So I do my high knee drills and then the dad walks by me. We start talking and I learn that heā€™s training his daughter who was a juniour to break 57s for 400m at nationals. VERY impressive if he can do so. Anyways he asked me what event I did. I told him 100/200 doubler. And then it happend again when he replied Oh you looked to me like an 800m runner!!! LOL, not again I get that everytime I tell someone I run. God Damnit :frowning: :D. We kept talking and then he told me I should have a go at 400m, 11th person who told me that this year btw yes I keep count lol. Little did he know that Im still at the stage where I almost vomit after a hard 200m and IF I were to run a 400m race I would collapse at 300m and start crying for my mother LOL :p. Was a pretty cool dude though.

So FINALLY I start training

150m @ 90% meant to be under 17s but I did not time.

Then a 4min rest.

150m @ 90%

So yea that was it, warmed down and then it hit me. Throughout my workout, because I didnā€™t have water, I was drinking orange juice and I drank about 1.5L of it. I wanted to spew SO bad. The worst thing of all was that It only kicked in when I was driving. Ugh.

Now Im back home and just about to head out. But before I goā€¦

LONG LIVE ASAFA POWELL KING OF THE 100m SPRINT.

Cool insight

What did the daughter look like? There is a really talented girl from up there called Margot (canā€™t recall last name) she is short with dark hair and last time I saw her it was cut in a bobā€¦won 400, 800 & 1500 at Colagte by a country mile she would be 12.

As for you maybe 400m one day but as you know you need to harden up first :stuck_out_tongue:

BTW 150m @ 90% meant to be under 17s  :o

That sounds pretty likely but to win 1500m as well sounds like a bit of a stretch

150 @ 90% under 17, 15.3 150, pretty fast aey especially for a practice pr?

Ah sorry I did not word that right.

I did 150m @ 90%, on second glance of my programme it just said do the 150s below 17seconds.

So I probably ended up doing 2reps of 17.5secs, around 90%, instead of my target which was supposed to be below 17s :stuck_out_tongue:

Margot Gibson

Girls 11 400m
1 Margot Gibson CHA 1:09.21
2 Anna Kean ARI 1:12.36

800m
1 Margot Gibson CHA 2:29.79
2 Anna Kean ARI 2:38.77

1500m
1 Margot Gibson CHA 5:08.69
2 Anna Kean ARI 5:29.85

re your 150m , either way that is nice and quick especially considering the season is still 2 months away from starting.

Yup that is most likely her, she did seem short but most 12yo kids do :stuck_out_tongue:

Starts:
10m X 2 @ 100 on a curveā€¦

High intensity track work took its toll today and had to cut my starts short because of shin splints.

150m @ 70% x 4 on Grass

Stair work:

2 X Sprint up as fast as possible
1 X Alternate leg bounds with 3kg medball
1 X Left leg hops 3kg medball
1 X Right leg hops 3kg medball
2 X Frog leaps over 4 steps with 3kg medball

I love stair work as its tough plyometrics where I am seeing progression.

Iā€™ve been thinking about this comment and I donā€™t think you look like an 800 runner at all. Yes you are slight and tall but you donā€™t have that gaunt underfed look MD guys have.

Youā€™re still pretty young (18?) and in a few years with appropriate weight training and simply due to age you will add a few kgs.

I reckon you are well set up for an impressive career in 100, 200 and maybe 400. Certainly I anticipate one day being able to say to people ā€¦ahem excuse me, I know him :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha thanks.

Now firstly all I have to say is Holy Crap!!! I have taken 3 days off because I was ill. I went to some sort of specialist and he said I was lactose intolerant!!! NO mORE DAIRY FOODS!!! He said that, along with other certain foods was causing my body to mess itself up. Weakening and stressing a lot of my organs, only alowing me to absorb maybe 50%-75% of the nutrients I was taking in. Shitā€¦So a major lifestyle change. I can still have dairy food but 90% less than what I was taking in. So Im going to stack up on SOY MILK and SOY Protein lol.

Another bomb that was dropped on me is that I cant eat foods with gluten. There goes all wheat breads. Damnit, no pasta too. :frowning:

There is a bright side because the specialist I saw said I would be able to train 2X as hard, feel like a new person, and most likely I will have an easier time putting on weight/muscle because I will absorb more nutrients. I want to be careful with the weight gain though and keep it in check.

Throat feels sore but body feeling goodish. I wonder if abstaining from gluten is going to help.

60m X 3 @ 80%
120m X 3 @ 75-80%

All speed work has come to a halt yet again because of illness unfortunately. Damn I would pay sooo much for a good immune system!!!
