Hey runners. Don’t laugh but I have soreness in my left ribs from severe coughing (which is now gone). I went for a recovery run last nite and it hurt so I stopped.
How many days of inactivity does it take before you lose sprinting fitness? I am training for the 400M and am quite fit now.
Per treatment, should I ice? I’ll attempt to cross-train so long as it does not provoke the ribs.
My daughter had this condition and it lasted for months. Finally had to get a dozen injections to deal with inflammation. That helped get rid of it, but it took a some time even after the injections before she could run without pain again. Hers was pretty severe. Hopefully, yours is to a lesser degree to allow a speedier recovery. You probably should take some ibuprofen – 3 tabs three times a day to help with it.
