Very fast 100m, 110m and 200m, incredible. 2.2 wind 9.76, wow. He’s on pace to take WR with a 9.76 or 9.75, but you never really know…

Can’t wait to see how Asafa will answer.

For those in the U.S it will be on tonight on ESPN2 at 11 pm EST and again tomorrow on CBS though I’m not sure of the time for that broadcast.

ESPN2 WORST COVERAGE EVER!!! NO 110H NO 100M. NO WONDER TRACK IS DYING IN THE USA

Nice to see Canada doing something! I wonder if Macrozonaris can get back on his horse.

Yep-both with great times too. I guess they are reserving those for the CBS broadcast tomorrow when, of course, I won’t be able to watch it. Jenn S. set an American record in the PV of 16 ft or a bit over as well but we did not see that-unless I just missed it, somehow.

Na you didn’t miss it, they didn’t show that either. I’m sure millions will tune in tomorrow to watch the Reebok Grand Prix on CBS

Thankfully, though, they showed quite a bit of the 5000

analyze this. Clearly NBC does not know the difference btw MPS and MPH nor do they know Oba ran 9.69. Hopefully they will know they should televise the race tomorrow.

===========
Gay won the men’s 100 in 9.76 seconds at the Reebok Grand Prix on Saturday night, but the wind was at 2.2 mph, slightly more than the allowable margin of 2.0.

“I had a bad feeling,” the American said. “In the blocks I was pretty sure the wind was high. It had calmed down a bit, but not enough.”

APTyson Gay, left, won the men’s 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 9.76 seconds.
Asafa Powell of Jamaica holds the world record in the men’s 100 at 9.77.

Gay bolted from the blocks and powered past the field with the wind at his back. Two weeks earlier, he ran a 9.79 at the Adidas Track Classic – which would have tied the American record, but that wind was at 2.5.

“I don’t run to chase world records,” Gay said. “I’m not frustrated at all, I’m just happy to win the race.”

You mean there is a difference between mph and mps? Notice they say men’s 100. They probably still think it’s 100y.

They(CBS) SHOULD show the 100 and 110h but maybe they realize that the most important thing is to provide their viewing audience with the crucial minutes of missing 5000m footage from tonight.

If he ran faster with less wind, he’d have the record.

I believe he is referring to the fact he ran 9.79 w/ 2.5w at the addidas meet a couple weeks ago and now he ran 9.76 w/ 2.2w.

Exactly, does the fact that he runs both the 100m and 200m really well, does that boast well for rounds at a wc, and being able to be not to tired for the final?

Crawford was olympic champ in the 200m and still had a hard time coming back for the 100m final after the stuff he pulled in the rounds. If you blow your load in the rounds, the final will hurt no matter what and that goes for every level of track I’ve seen.

wasnt the 100m before the 200m in the last olympics? Yeah he did go out pretty hard, it will be interesting to see if gay goes after the 100m and 200m crown

It was. My point is that the guy ended up being the 200m champ, but still didn’t have it in him to run the 100m final after the 100m rounds because he ran way too hard it seemed.
