Question for Charlie regarding young athletes.

Charlie, with a very young kid age 9-10 would you use the format in the forum review featuring two high intensity days(not really so high)? We are training 3-4 days max per week and incorporating much general circuit type(not so many actually) exercises. The kid really appears to be enjoying it so far and parents say his posture has improved already(about two weeks). Any general reccomendations regarding circuit progression, etc.?



It looks okay with what you are doing. I would not do any SE work or totally max work.

I have noticed that young children in the playground - run hard and rest, then start again.

A programme that is fundamentally sound and is ENJOYABLE is the key.

My thoughts

I agree have fun with them. Shuttle runs, fun circuits etc
