Pray for Haiti

I understand this is a track site but damn someone should have started a thread about this… I send my blessings to everyone in Haiti, may God be with all!!

Yea, lets just hope all the donated money really gets to them…

I’m watching CNN “Anderson Cooper 360” right now - very sad stuff.

The Earth moves all the time fokes…

But I think, in the next 5 years, we will be seeing a lot of more things like this. It has to do with the many things, but one of them, is the predictions of 2011/2012 sun spot cycle.

“You can text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti”.

Instead of buying my monthly whey protein+BCAA’s I donated $100 to my people in Haiti - you do the same…

Football’s right. Pray, donate, do what you can. We’re all in this thing together.

I can’t help but to say it, but people need to do their research on various company’s BEFORE they decide to donate. Scrambling to text a few bucks just because a celebrity says so is not a good idea. They don’t get the money right away anyway because they need to wait until you pay your bill.

People seem to be completely unaware that charity organizations have a history of misappropriating the funds to support inflated salary’s. It has to do with a loophole where as long as the charity gives 10 cents on every dollar to the cause of the mission they are perfectly legal.

Bottom line: The public is just completely unaware that many charity organizations usually build THEIR fortune out of sorrow and tragedy. It’s called “the gray area”. And I do have some actual experience in this industry because I worked for a “questionable” organization in Los Angeles.

false…

Nobody needs to believe me, all I’m saying is that when the $$$t hits the fan not everybody that comes running to help is a friend.

No Shit!!! Back to donating money, “I will donate what I can and if someone else decide to steal it then it’s on them. At least I know from the bottom of my heart that I tried to help”. (From my mom) Stop making excuses and find a way to help.

I feel you… and I’m not trying to be smart, but all of us can do better then “at least I know from the bottom of my heart that I tried to help” by taking some time to research various companies BEFORE we decide to donate or actually going to the disaster site itself and helping.

I can’t remember her name but a lessor known female celeb and her friend PERSONALLY fly with medial supplies and food to 3rd world countries once in a while to help people because she said the people who need it the most never get it. She said the CEO’s and the like take the donation money to support their inflated salaries. I only found out that she did this because she posted it on her website/blog but for the life of me I can’t think of her name!! But she is the REAL DEAL because she does not incorporate a company just to help people, she just scrapes up cash between her and her friend and they fly to the countries themselves. Also, you got to ask yourself, why is it that other countries in 2010 are so ridden with poverty and they constantly need an influx of U.S fiat currency?? Could the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund be the cause??? I digress.

Anyhow, is it the same with athletics (well track), the upcoming athletes have a hard time getting any money all while people sit in plush offices claiming they love the sport and they do all they can to help athletes. Yea, sure… USTF dropped my friend/old roommate who is a 27 jumper with no history of any problems on or off the track. He now works 2 jobs, and because he is now married, if the money does not start rolling in, it’s only a matter of time before he quits the sport.

We have been contacted by several people asking about donations. Please note, we do not have facilities on this site to receive and distribute donations.
If you wish to help, please go through an established charity like the Red Cross.
