Question

Most jobs require degrees in exercise science or similar. Well the only degree I have is in Accounting.

Looking at roles in some organisations, I can not apply due to not having a relevant degree.

All my qualifications are based on experience, reading and listening. How do you get around the educationally requirements?

I have thought about doing a degree or some form of post grad studies but the cost and time is prohibitive.

Any thoughts or advice.

Often you can’t because the system is set and they’d rather fit their criteria than employ someone who knows what they are doing. Your best bet is to get results and then go for a job. A world champion or something might swing their attention!

yeah maybe they could fly 2 persons from italy

a coach and his assistent

i’d love to work in new zeland

online studies are an option with Edith Cowen uni in perth, with Masters in Strength and conditioning or Exercise Science. Both have practical assessments during holidays/ negotiated with you.

Or if you have 12 weeks set aside Bond uni on the gold coast offer 3 semesters in one year(3 x 12 weeks semesters) in masters of Sport science. Where you can complete a post graduate cert in one semester, a post grad diploma in two semesters and masters in 3 semesters (10 months)

Football: Ex-Rovers trainer looking to help Phoenix rise
Tue, 06 May 2008 05:35p.m.

The Wellington Phoenix are pulling out all the stops to make this season’s A-League playoffs.

They have enlisted the help of former English premiership fitness trainer Ed Baranowski, and his fresh approach is raising more than just eyebrows.

Baranowski wants to get to know his new team inside and out, and he is using some unusual methods.

“A large portion of us struggled to start with,” says Phoenix goalkeeper Mark Paston, “but I guess it’s the small things that matter.”

Baranowski immigrated to New Zealand late last year, and his plan was to retire from football.

But after spending more than 20 years working with the cream of English talent he found he could not stay away.

“I missed that sort of day-to-day activity, the banter that you get from the players, the fun and games scenario as well as the stress.”

Baranowski has hit the ground running with the Phoenix. His ball-specific training and heart-rate monitoring has lifted the players’ fitness levels already, and their motivation.

“It’s been a welcome change, I think, to the club,” says midfielder Michael Ferrante.

“Results will probably show – well hopefully anyway.”

Team management can not believe their luck having someone of Baranowski’s talent.

Blackburn Rovers won the premiership in 1995 with the trainer on board, and now the Phoenix hope his methods can take them to the top of the A-League.
