I’m a pole vaulter during track season but i was running xc to get in shape. I’ve been running for 3 weeks now and i feel really fit and lean. Now I’ve heard maybe this isnt good for me. what do you all think?
X-country has no application to anything you need for your event or will be doing in the SPP. Work on the foundation of qualities you’ll actually use.
As Charlie mentions, start working on things that will actually be usefull to your athletic endeavors. Are you currently strength-training? The extensive tempo that we speak of can provide you with your foundation you tried to get with Cross Country. What about Circuits? There are many other options one could follow without resorting to running through the woods. Dont kill the fast-twitch
