The Oral Roberts University’s 4x800 meter relay team, Texas Relays winner in 7:17.02, the best time for that event in the world, is making a rare appearance at the Penn Relays, which take place April 25-29 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That winning performance at Texas made them the first college team under 7:20 in two seasons.
The Golden Eagles are led by 1:46 halfmiler Shaun Smith and 1:47 runner Prince Mumba. Teammates James Wanjiku and Adrian Foster make up the rest of the squad that put them on top of the world rankings. The squad is also a major reason that the men’s team as a whole currently ranks #14 in the nation, according to TrackWire’s top 25 rankings.
