Observational Tests of Fibre Type

Aside from getting a muscle biopsy done (which is obviously fairly expensive and invasive), does anyone have any guidelines for how they would roughly guess fibre type in their athletes?

For example, I would have thought that good initial tests in MB throws, vertical jumps etc. would indicate a greater proportion of IIb/IIx, whereas a better initial test at a 10RM in the gym, or maybe a 600m run, might show a greater proportion of IIa.

Another possible test I have considered is the percentage difference between 10RM and 1RM - athletes with greater IIb/x should perform relatively better at 1RM than 10RM, as opposed to IIa individuals, where you might see less difference.

Any thoughts?
