I was watching a meet yesterday, and what I observed was that those who ran a 60 in around 7.2 to 7.5 had the best part of their race at the end of their acceleration-phase, just before hitting top-speed.
When at top-speed most of them seemed to actually loose some forward momentum. Was this only an illusion caused by the sprinters getting upright or is this rather typical at that level of sprinting?
This interests me considering that I’m running my 60’s from a standing start in 7.34.
I’ve never seen myself run, and I think this is probably a really good idea
