Is it bad to eat right before going to bed
If you forget to brush your teeth after ,yes…
Animals in the wild do it, so in general no. If your skinfolds are high then it isn’t the best approach in reducing adipose tissue.
The advice I’ve been given, that sounds like common sense, suggests that while sleeping the body is recovering, but if it continues to be digesting food then it isn’t at an optimal relaxed state.
Food for thought…!
I posted the question becuase I read that when one takes in carbs before bed, the body will store it as fat which will ultimately result in weight gain
This depends on numerous other factors. Carbs are stored intially as glycogen ( muscle glucose) . After this it can be stored as fat, but the same is for excess calories from protein.
so let say I need 2500 cals to maintain my weight. If I eat 500cals in morning and 2000 before bed will the remaining cals most likely be stored as fat? or does it equal out since I ate only 500 cals in morning
It would equal out if you had at least 2500 cal expenditure during the day (physical activity). If you remained stationary for most of the day, then excess calories would be stored as fat. The eating schedule that you outline is not ideal for boosting your metabolism or for recovery. It’s best to spread out your meals into smaller portions
