New Chunder Mile WR (5min08.7)

Hello All,

I know this is generally a sprint training forum but I thought you would enjoy this!

Yesterday I attended a meeting at Loughborough University here in the UK. It is customary for the “Chunder Mile” to be held at the end of the last meet of the year. For those not accustomed to this event it involves a single person doing the 4x400m relay and at every “batton pass” downing a pint of larger/cider (whatever you want so long as it is alcohol). Needless to say this is just crazy but yesterday I watched a Loughborough lad manage to run it in 5.08.7 (a new WR).

From what I can discover the guys’s name is Chris Parr and he has a 1500m PB of 3min42s! I was wondering if anyone else does this event at their college or uni?

Thanks,

Steve.

Yeah, my college had the “beer mile”, only it was done on a quite regular basis throughout the whole year (on weekends). Which probably explains why not many of the runners were not… ummm how do I say this… “good”!!

p.s. very stupid!
