Oregon to host 2010 NCAA track championships

EUGENE – The 2010 NCAA Track and Field Championships will be at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, it was announced Thursday.

It will be the 10th time the school has hosted the four-day event since 1962.

“The University of Oregon is thrilled to be selected to host the (event) at historical Hayward Field,” said athletic director Bill Moos. "Like securing the 2008 Olympic trials, this is a tribute to the people within Oregon athletics and throughout the community.

Boosting the university’s bid were the improvements planned for the venue in preparation for the Olympic trials.

Dominguez to leave University of Portland: Former South Salem basketball star Jeremiah Dominguez, who has been playing the past two seasons for the University of Portland, will not be returning to the college, the school announced Thursday.

The school said Dominguez will transfer to a school that “will better fit his academic and athletic pursuits.”

Dominguez was the Class 4A player of the year in 2003. The 5-foot-6 guard averaged 3.8 points in 58 games for the Pilots

it seems like every year the ncaa’s is on the west coast. Or somwhere with a cold climate. Can we get one in Florida.
