Just letting everyone know that I have a new article on http://www.t-nation.com/article/most_recent/exercise_of_the_week_the_iso_pushup Read it, post about it, try it and let me know. Don’t rip it until you try it though:) .
We’ll go easy mate!
LOL
As usual, i’m sure:p .
Yep I can testify having been doing them for a while that they do work with increasing strength. Although a little uncomfortable and sometimes a tad boring a great exercise to add in on tempo days.
Good points illustrating the need to be flexible in your thinking and not let a rigid philosophy get in your way.
Thanks. Speaking of those points, I have an article on this site coming up today i think.
good stuff! Keep em coming.
Thanks, there is actually a video in the works. Hopefully done a couple of months.
This is similar to the static hold exercises advocated by gymnastics coach Christopher Sommer
I’ve been waiting for his books to come out for years. What gives…
Me too. I’ve incorporated some of the exercises in his article and I really like them, especially when I might not have time to get to the gym or I just don’t feel like lifting after the track (not that I’ve been to the track at all lately).
Now that he has the new web site up I think he’s closer to releasing the books. It might just be wishful thinking. But I definitely think there’s a lot of value to this type of strength training.
