Whoops, I thought the username was automatically put in there. The username is “SFHS” and the password is “guest.”

Heres another one I found of me catching a pass during warm-ups http://www.dotphoto.com/GuestViewImage.asp?AID=1788400&IID=56739376&INUM=52&ICT=53

We had our 2nd game today, and we came from behind (14-0 in their favor at the start of 2nd quarter) to defeat one of our cross-town rivals 35-21. We should’ve kicked the crap out of them but we came out flat and they were ready to play. We had about 300 yards rushing between two of our RBs, but I think our QB only completed 3 passes the entire game. I didnt play much cuz it was such a tight game most of the way through, but it was still fun to win, and its nice to start off the season 2-0.

Also, my quadriceps injury is pretty much gone. It requires a little more stretching and warm-up but once I get warm I’m pretty much pain free. The only thing I have to work on now is staying stretched between series on offense and between drills in practice.

Ugh, I’ve been swamped with work. I was an idiot for choosing to take AP Chem and AP US History. I have a test tomorrow on the properties of solutions, oxidizing and redux reactions, stochiometric quantities, and polyatomic ions. Then add in a test in US History on the years 1774-1800 and well needless to say I wont be getting much sleep tonight. Also, as a result my performance and concentration on the field have been getting worse and the coaches are starting to get mad at me making mental and careless errors.

You are starting to sound like me… :stuck_out_tongue:
The best advice I can give- be obsessive about making yourself schedules, make use of all the time you can during the day to get things done, but also know that there is a point when health takes priority over work. In the end, you will do better on tests if you go to sleep instead of staying up all night cramming and then passing out at your desk. Planning ahead is really key- my senior year I managed 4 AP’s, 4 additional classes, an independent study, 3 captainship sports, a club, and a job and during track season I still found a way to get my 8 hours of sleep a night.

Don’t let anyone distract you. You will be happily asleep when they are all up at 3am crying. Step back and take a breath and keep yourself healthy above all else… you are not the first to try to manage the schedule you are dealing with, you will be absolutely fine.

Thanks, I did manage to make it through the day. You’re right, I just have to manage my time better next time so this doesnt happen again.

Football-wise, we have our game tomorrow at home thats supposed to be the toughest opponent we’ve faced so far. They have this monster OL/DL named Eben Britton that already committed to Arizona, and so we’ve really gotta bring our “A” game as far as the line is concerned. Heres a link to his profile http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=15&p=8&c=1&nid=1199896

We ended up winning again, and the score of the game was something like 38-22 in our favor. We ended up owning that huge lineman they had, and supposedly there was a scout at the game from Cal to see if he could convince the guy to decommit and the scout left in the first quarter. Next week we play another one of our cross-town rivals, and they’re gonna be a pretty easy game.

Well this week of practice has gone great. Its finally cooled down over in so-cal and so it was a nice 68 degrees today, which was much better than the 80 something it was a week ago. Also, I’ve done very well and I’m finally starting to feel close to a 100% again, and so I’ve really been burning some of the DBs lately. I’m also getting more consistent at my catching and blocking, and so I’ll likely see way mroe PT this friday.

The game went well yesterday; we won 33-7. I did get in a lot more, but almost all of our plays were runs because our O-line was tearing it up so I didnt have any receptions. This upcoming week of practice I’m really gonna try and sell out and see if I can start working myself into the regular rotation for receivers. The way it works is that we have 3 receivers that rotate among the 2 WR spots, and I’m right about no. 4 or no. 5 right now, and so I want to see if I can challenge for that no. 3 spot so I can play more. Also, I have a cousin on the team we’re playing this week and it’s their homecoming so it would be nice to ruin his night and get bragging rights for another year.

Today was pretty interesting because it was the first time that I’ve ever done yoga. For our comparative religions course our prof brought in a yoga teacher for a good 70 or 80 minute session, and after it was over I felt extremely relaxed and limber. I think that carried over into practice today cuz I did have a really good practice.

i did all different kinds of yoga all summer and it made a really big difference… worth continuing!!

What kind of Yoga? I took a yoga course couple years back, it was Hatha Yoga, and it was terrible, the moves were defintely geared towards people with no pre-existing joint problems, b/c if you did have any, forget it, Yoga would have made it worse.

I took it, b/c someone in my class took it the year before and swore that it helped her study better and remember concepts better. Didn’t do squat for me…

I dont remember what kind of yoga it was, but I found it very helpful. It wasnt really easy stuff, but it wasnt ultra hard either. If I can find somewhere in my area where I can find a good course I might start doing it on weekends to help me recover from football.

hatha yoga is the most commonly taught- power yoga is much more intense and is great for tempo days, and then there is the really spiritual kind where you sing and don’t actually move around much and that is kind of boring.

Thanks for the yoga info…

Its been a while since I’ve updated but I’ve just been drained physically, emotionally, and mentally. Two weeks ago (10-8-04) we lost in double overtime on a missed extra point in game that we were winning 21-0 at halftime with us firmly in the driver’s seat. We were supposed to win that game big, but things dont always happen that way.

Then yesterday (10-15-04) we go up against the leage champs from two years ago and we’re winning 14-7 with about 4 minutes left in the first half and controlling the game (this is a game in which we were predicted to get blown out). Then all hell breaks loose. Our starting QB (all-league last year as a junior) gets a moderate concussion and is out of the game. The backup QB is a talented (but very inexperienced) sophomore. But then we fumble and they score. After that we get a penalty and they score again. Finally our defense stops them and forces a punt but then they get the first cuz we had 12 men on the field and they score a field goal. The half ends and we’re down 24-14. Our team comes out and drives down the field but then we fumble on their 1 yard line. After that its pretty much over cuz our offense cant keep our D off the field and we just get worn down. The final score ends up being 40-19 (them) after we get a field goal and a safety. So now all we can do is win out the season (hopefully) and see if we can take a share of the league title and move onto CIF playoffs.

Ugh, I feel like crap. I got a flu shot on friday but ever since then i feel as if im coming down with something. It might be bronchitis, cuz I’ve been coughing up yellow and green, but im also getting cold shivers as well. Either way, the cold weather around here isnt helping things much, and I just need to get over this so I can prepare for finals next week and continue to play football with some form of decency.

Its been a while, but I’ve been busy lately. I’m in the middle of finals week, and I’m not thinking I did too well on that AP Chem final earlier today. Also, since it is finals week I’ve been perpetually hyped up on energy drinks, and so as a result I’m a little more on edge. As far as football goes, we have a game this saturday, and basically if we win we are guranteed (sp) a spot in the playoffs, but if we lose we have to beat the number 3 team in SoCal (Notre Dame) in order to have a chance of getting hte wild card spot. I’ll be back with more later, but I’ve got some studying to catch up on.

We ended up coming back with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter from a 17-3 deficit to win the game 24-17. It was pretty awesome, and that left me in a good mood. But things went to shit on Sunday. First of all, I got in a car crash with my sister on the way to a party. It was the other guy’s fault (thats what the police report says), but i still got a ticket cuz ive only had my license for four months and i guess that against the provisions to drive someone else in the car. Now my car has been totaled, and i missed the sickest party of the year (by most accounts there were a couple amateur pornstars there, a guy nailed a swedish girl in one the bathrooms, another guy had a threesome with two chicks on the trampoline in the backyard, three kegs, and then throw in the fact that the parents of the kid who threw the party were completely cool with everything and they kept the police out and i think you get the picture). Then, we had no school monday or today but i spent 7 and 5 hours at school each day respectively for football. You see this week we play Notre Dame HS (ranked no. 2 or no. 3 in CA) and if we win we win our first league title since 1997. So our coaches took advantage of our days off to completely focus on football. So we better freakin win, and ill give you an update of that on friday or saturday after the game.

We didnt win. It sucked, and the final score was 38-7 in their favor. I swear these players are the fastest ive ever seen in my life, ever. Its unreal, but now our team just has to move on and focus on the CIF playoffs. As far as my own training goes, I’m really just using football as GPP and conditioning as extensive/intensive tempo (depending on the day) so I can jump right into my training when football ends.

After talking to some people, it turns out that 4 of the guys on their football team went to the California state meet for the 4x100m and made it to the final round. Also, their two starting running backs have times of 10.4 and 10.5 FAT in the 100, and one of them has scholarship offers from a bunch of D1 schools.

This week we play the worst team in our league, and so I’ll probably see a bunch of playing time because they’re overmatched against us in pretty much every category.
