Only three defenders confirmed as not competing

DAEGU (eme news) - All but three individual title defenders from Berlin 2009, should compete in Daegu.
Of the title defenders not competing as of now are Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, 800m (injury), Marta Dominguez, steeplechase (childbirth) and Steffi Nerius, javelin (retirement).
Also female marathon winner Bai Xue of China has had injury problems and there is a good chance she will miss Daegu.
All other title defenders are slated to compete, including Kenenisa Bekele and Yusuf Saad Kamel, who were recently not competing. Question marks however are still surrounding Croatia’s Blanka Vlasic’s health status.
