Still snowy, not like it matters for me. EMS+ice for 25min.
Weight room: Max week. It’s ridiculous. I just threw 225 on for squats and did it to get a grade.

Weights: Couldn’t get 195, so I’ll just do some low weight tommorrow for a grade.
Track: Pictures and EMS/ice. I’m out Saturday…sigh…
Another day of rest and ice. EMS.
EMS, ice, physical therapy. Yer in, yer out…target to return is tuesday for Western MT Top-10, very prestigious meet, must be (oddly enough) in the top ten in our region of Montana (state is divided in two for it). Could run 4x100m, 200m, and 4x400m, but with injuries…for sure I want a piece of that long relay, w/out me they ran a 3:32…with two 54sec splits! We went back and looked at splits today, and I actually ran a 52.1 split, not 52.7. My coach was reading his stopwatch split and it had 52.07, I thought I heard 52.7…so sub in a 52 flat to our 1st leg, who ran a 52.6 split, plus our 2nd leg who should be low 53 soon, and our anchor who ran a 51 flat split last week…we’re flying for Class A Montana.
Ran for the 1st time this week today. Did a very long, slow warmup and only did three buildups, but today was a test to see if I’m ready to go. I’m running the 4x400 tommorrow at Western MT Top Ten, we’re the number 3 team. That doesn’t mean we aren’t shooting to win it. We haven’t lost the relay when I’ve been on it this year. Since only one other kid on the team is running another 400m, we should be well rested and prepared to go after the 3:27 school record.
Weight Room: 3x3 Towel bench, 155, 165, 185, did 5 @ 185.
After practice I did EMS and iced, I’ll ice again later tonight and stretch on and off throughout the night.
Weight Room: Bench 3x3, missed my squat workout yesterday due to meet. 135, 155, 175, 175 was tough. 3x10 5lb shoulder exercises, 50 lower abs, 50 uppers, 50 push ups
Track: It’s freezing, and I find myself doing very little lately. Iced, left.
Finally! I get to practice today. 6 400s, 8min recovery, 65 sec pace. Ran 65, 64, 65, 63, 64. Wasn’t very tired, but I felt my calf a tiny bit. Whirlpooled after.
Weight room: Box Squats, to 1" above parallel. 2x3, 1x10, light weights, 135, 145, 155. 3x10 SLDL 80lbs, ham curls @ 30lbs, 50 sit ups, 50 push ups.
Did 4x100m and 4x400m exchanges. Calf is a little tight, but still felt fast. Been icing every couple hours; I’m ready to go race this hick kid from Corvallis who’s gonna be there, he’s pretty quick, but I think I’m faster. I’ll find out tommorrow.
Finally, the weather has come around. Low 60s today, beautiful weather. I ran my workout shirtless because I was overheating. Tempo 200s, set of 10, 45 sec recovery. Times: 37, 33, 35, 32, 33, 32, 35, 33, 32, 27 (had a little too much fun on the last one). Felt great. I iced after.
Weights: 5x5 T-bench 135, 145, 155, 165, 175
3x10 Lat Pulls 75lbs, Shoulder raises 3x10 10lbs, 50 push ups, 50 sit ups
Easy, easy day today. There was a middle school track meet at our complex so we just did warm up, stretch, A series and some buildups (our normal beginning for practice) on grass in the neighboring park.
Weights: 5x5 Squats @ 135lb. Not pushing my legs too hard, but I still feel it a little.
Today was weird, but fun. Our coach was sick of terrible handoffs in the short relay, and in response had us run them all the way through twice today, meet conditions. It went well, for the 1st time in weeks our 1st exchange worked. People need to learn to trust each other, I think is our biggest problem. It went well today, coach said I looked great. I got the last leg, so I could slow down a little today, we were racing just the “B” relay.
Weights: 5x5 Bench 135, 140, 150, 160, 170
shoulder raises, 3x10 @10lbs, 50 push ups, 50 sit ups
We had a very easy workout today, just starts out to 40m, 6 of em. Did two at each place I start. I felt really fast, especially on the curve. I ate up a 23.5 (albeit slower starting) 200m kid in 30m. Hopefully I can get it done on Saturday.
Just exchanges tonight. Easy. No weights today because I took the AP US History test for 5 out of 7 periods of the day…ish…100, 200, 400, both relays mañana…
Today was my first day practicing since last Friday. I’ve been at Montana Youth Legislature and we were going to practice there, but it was rainy and terrible. Ran bleachers today on about 4 hours of sleep. I need to go to bed.
feeling a little better, but still tired, I did long jump approaches today. It was the first time in a long time, and my first time ever at 18 steps. I can tell I’m going to like it, I feel myself accellerate better and I get alot of hang time. Did 6-7 approaches w/ two full jumps. Felt really good.
Got a good night’s sleep last night, ready for a track meet. Last night I did 3 exchanges, and 2 of them I ran through to the finish. We moved my exchange so that my “go” mark is the accelleration arrow, my “start” mark is 24 heel toes from there, and my “drop” mark is a little into the exchange zone. I end up getting it right as the curve turns to straight. I’m excited to run today, 200m, 400m, LJ, both relays.
The home stretch is here, only Divisionals and State left. Today was an easy day, I was sore from Saturday still. Mile of jog-passes w/ the relay team.
Terrible Tuesdays. This was the worst. I don’t know why it got me so bad. 3x400m w/ 8 min recovery. 61, 61, 58, and a pukish, staggering walk in after cool down. Almost passed out in the training room. I had mad endorphins, couldn’t see straight. 200m splits were 32, 29, 26…sheesh, I’m tired.
Today was an easy day. I did landing drills and a couple approaches before we got rained out. I worked out a kink in my landing and hopefully this will allow me to go farther.
Did three exchanges and ran through the relay once. We moved my mark back and I ran away from the kid, so we moved it back to where it was. Headed to Divisionals mañana for the pre-meet practice. Saturday is the big day.
