Military Running

I’m currently serving in the US Air Force and I’ve been having some troubles with my 1.5 mile run (2400km). My current time is 10:48; however, I feel I could run it a lot faster if I knew how to train for that specific distance. Right now, I just run 2-miles every other day and hope my times begin to fall (which they have a little bit).

And I came here hoping I could get some tips and/or helpful advice on how to run 1.5-miles faster. So how should I go about training? The weight room isn’t out of the option either since I’m currently working out my upper body mostly (other than squats, leg curls, etc.).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have always done speed work. Throw in a speed day one of those days for yourr kick.

Run a 100,200,300,400, full speed and only take 5 minutes rest between each set.

Hoooahh!!!
