Marion Wins 100, out of 200

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 24 Reuters - Triple Olympic champion Marion Jones pulled out of the women’s 200 metres preliminaries at the U.S.championships a day after winning the national 100 title.
``Three rounds in one day in the 100 metres took a toll on her legs,’’ Jones’s agent, Charles Wells told Reuters.
Former world 100 metres champion Torri Edwards, who was third behind Jones in Friday’s 100 metres final, also scratched from the 200 metres preliminaries. No reason was given.
Well said Jones had warmed up for her 200 metres race then decided to withdraw.
Inclement weather on Thursday had forced officials to hold all three rounds of the men’s and women’s 100 metres on Friday.
Jones had the fastest time in all three rounds, winning the final in 11.10 seconds. It was her first U.S. sprint title in four years.
