I’m not weird or anything (Nikoluski, shut up… ), but to benefit those who feel injured, I want to start a thread where everyone can suggest one (or a few) of the funniest movies you’ve ever seen.
Good mood and laughter heals.
Sports psychologists have been saying it for years, quantum physics proves this scientifically, and areas like Matrix Energetics bring this to practice.
I was recently diagnosed with a knee fracture, and been consiously in pain ever since the doc gave me a verdict (the knee actually felt better before then…), today after laughing really hard several times, I felt heaps healthier and held myself from sprinting across a field that looked very tempting at the time… I was very bouncy and all of a sudden very pain free.
So since for some of us every-day hard laughing might be rare to come along, let us know what movies have made you laugh hard., to make things just a big easier.
-Undercover Brother
-History of the World: Part 1
-Blazing Saddles
-Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
-Me, Myself, and Irene
-Dodgeball
-Airplane
-“Mr. Bean” the television show
I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope my list does something to help.
On a similar note, there was a psychology study done where three groups of people watched the same film and then rated how funny it was. One group held the end of a pen lightly between their teeth with their lips parted. Another group held a pen in with their lips. And the third group was a control group. The group with the pen in their teeth rated the material as the funniest. This would suggest that holding the end of a pen in between one’s teeth (which causes one’s facial expression to approximate a smile) while watching a film will lead to greater enjoyment. Basically, this is my way of saying to keep a smile on your face as often as possible. Your cheeks may get tired, but it will make you feel much better. It’s pretty dang hard to feel angry or depressed while wearing a big grin.
Thanks
Good mood and smiles do wonders.
I just came back from a 3 hour hiking trip with a whole bunch of British people (I am getting tired of Greeks :o )
I was leading the whole way, and didn’t hurt one bit, not once I feel very refreshed.
[p.s. While I was doing my ARP sessions in Milan with Pakewi (see “the Milan experience” thread for details), which were painful sessions, he did make a point about smiling, because it makes you tolerate higher scale numbers on the machine, yielding to faster healing.]
