So tying a guy, face up onto a board and them dipping him backwards under water till he starts drowning, reviving him, and repeating the process till he cracks isn’t torture. So then, I guess the allies weren’t justified in Executing the Nazi SS members who used those methods against our troops.

Torture is not politically correct. We should just talk sternly to criminals.

… are you a Republican?

but i agree, torure is wrong. But it is a vital tool that has helped in the past

You think we should torture criminals? In the 80s, there were a series of kidnappings and murders in Italy and the gov’t was asked about torture as a means of gaining info. They said: “We can survive these murders, but democracy cannot survive the introduction of institutional torture.”
The allies won WW2 without resorting to these means.

I was kidding.

Ah I don’t know that’s why I’m glad I’m not involved in govt/politics. You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Why can’t we all just get along.

Helped whom in the past? The Nazis? Their savagery helped galvanize a diverse group of nationalities in the East to have one universal goal- the complete and utter destruction of the Nazi regime.

Ah shit, you dont know half the crap thats goin on in this time and day, hell, even the past.

Granted torure is shit, and i sure as hell dont condone it, but it has gotten answers out of people.

and how do you know that the allies didnt use torture? you dont, nobody does…

The Germans got answers through torture, often not the right ones, as the victim will always say whatever he thinks the torturer wants to hear.
The allies got their info on the Germans by breaking their codes (read the ulta-secret).

yeah the polish mathmaticain or something. i knew watching the history channel would help me some day.

Yes, and the Polish underground workers who delivered the Enigma machine to the British died under torture without ever revealing what had happened.
